- What do you need from us to start working on a project?
- Detailed project spec (if you already have one) would be the best start. If you don't, please download the Project Planner, answer all questions as fully as you can and email it back to us. Based on your answers, we will provide you with an estimate, usually within 72 hours of receiving your Project Planner. Overall, the more we know about your company, your project goals, your target audience and your competitors, the smoother & happier the process will be.
- Do you provide back-end scripting and database development services?
- Visual design and production are my expert areas. My deliverables are web-ready templates (either valid XHTML/CSS pages, or traditional HTML with, where applicable, client-side Javascripts, and Macromedia Flash movies) that will seamlessly integrate with your back-end system. Should your project require back-end scripting and database work, I will be happy to work with your in-house IT team or connect you with one of my trusted back-office alliance partners.
- Can you stylize and add professional touch to our existing site without messing up the back-end code already present on pages?
- Absolutely. I have extensive experience in restyling, "beautifying", making intuitive and user-centered (vs. programmer-oriented) pages written in ASP, PHP, Perl and JSP.
- Why do you use "I" and "we" concurrently? How many of you are there?
- Technically, Webhues Web Productions is a one person design studio. Being the only decision maker for the company enables me to use an "I". Howerever, very frequently larger projects require more people than just an "I", then "I" turns into "we". So depending on the situation, either pronoun is justifiable.
- Do you work with clients outside of San Francisco?
- Of course! In fact, I just (a few months ago) moved to San Francisco after six years in New York City, and at this point almost all of the clients are out of state. Some are international.
- How do you find new clients?
- Majority of work finds me through referrals and word of mouth.
- So, where are you from?
- Born in Latvia, raised in Ukraine, married in Russia, gave birth in Canada, now "permanently reside" in US.
